James Murphy (Comsewogue/Port Jefferson Station) earned Region III Player of the Week honors for his two performances last week. Murphy scored a hat-trick and three assists in an 8-3 win over Broome on Oct. 30. He then came back on that Saturday to record two more assists in a shutout win over Maine Club. Murphy is off to another hot start after leading the nation in goals last season and earning All-American honors.
The Vikings hockey team hosts Monroe on Saturday at 7 p.m. and again on Sunday at 1 p.m.
