Women’s Basketball upsets Fulton-Montgomery

 

The women’s basketball team (7-6) defeated Fulton-Montgomery Community College (11-3), 79-70, on Saturday afternoon.

The Vikings made 17 of their last 20 free throw attempts to hold on for a big victory over the Raiders. Fulton-Montgomery ranks second in the region and suffered only their second region loss of the season. Shikera Lawson (Albany/Albany) and Sarah Janson (Scotia-Glenville/Scotia) were too much to handle in the post for the Raiders. Janson led the Vikings with 21 points and 10 rebounds, and Lawson recorded 16 points and 14 rebounds. Samantha Tomeck (Duanesburg/Duanesburg) added 16 points and My’Asia Alston (Cohoes/Cohoes) chipped in 14 in the win.

The women host SUNY Delhi on Wednesday at 5 p.m.
