Instructional Technologies brings Voices presentation into high school classroom

In addition to the live webcast that Instructional Technologies (IT) conducts for each Voices: A Library Lecture Series presentation, videoconferencing also is used.

Dr. Paul Calarco teaches Social Problems to Hudson Valley Community College students along with Hoosic Valley High School students via videoconferencing. On March 20, Dr. Calarco wanted to bring the Voices presentation, Behind the Swoosh:  Sweatshops and Social Justice, into the high school classroom. Utilizing videoconference technology, Hoosic Valley students were able to watch the presentation. Hoosic Valley students also were able to e-mail questions to an e-mail account, giving them the ability to participate in the lecture series as if they were in the BTC Auditorium.

If you have any videoconference needs or would like to find out more about the college’s videoconferencing services, please contact Eric Kiel by e-mail at e.kiel@hvcc.edu or by phone at 629-7625.
