Softball wins big over Adirondack

 

The softball team (6-2) defeated SUNY Adirondack (1-7) in a doubleheader on Monday afternoon. The Vikings won both games in 5 innings, 11-1 and 12-0.

Maggie Miller (Maple Hill/Schodack) bounced back after a tough doubleheader against Herkimer to record two wins on the day. Miller struck out five in the first game and nine in the second, allowing no earned runs. Chelsie Matala (Tamarac/Melrose) recorded three hits and Lauren Aitken (Maple Hill/Schodack) added two more in game one. Emily Johnson (Tamarac/Wynantskill) led the Vikings in game two with four hits and five RBIs, while Abby Coyne (Niskayuna/Niskayuna) and Miller each had two hits in the shoutout.

The softball team hosts Monroe today at 3 p.m.
