The Federal Work-Study Program is looking to expand Community Service Jobs. Currently the program serves the Lansingburgh Boy & Girls Club, Troy United Ministries and Hope 7. We are hoping to secure two more Community Service placements for 2014-2015.
Service opportunity is defined as: A program or project, including a service learning program or project, that enables students or out-of-school youth to perform meaningful and constructive service in agencies, institutions, and situations where the application of human talent and dedication may help meet human, educational, linguistic, and environmental community needs, especially those relating to poverty.
If you are a member or know of an organization/program that serves our community, please let us know. We are hoping to expand our community involvement!
