The department seeks to change the requirements for this certificate program increasing the hours from 18 to 24.
•3.2 Reintroduction of Course After 7 Semester/No Changes: PHED 248 Advanced Aerobic Boxing

The department would like to reintroduce this course into their offerings based on student interest.
•3.3 New Course: EXER 101 Introduction to Exercise Science

The department proposes this new course as a required course in the new Exercise Science degree program as well as an elective for all majors.

The department has determined that the revised A.A.S. program will better meet the needs of the industry and therefore the certificate is no longer needed.

The department believes the added pre/co-requisite is in the best interest of students in the program, ensuring they will have the foundational skills necessary to meet the required research paper assignment.
