The Instructional Media Center has obtained 18 GoPro Hero3+ Silver cameras with special LCD backs for faculty and student use.
The new GoPro Hero3+ Silver features both high end video and still photography capabilities. Special head strap/helmet mounts, chesty mounts, gooseneck clamp mounts and three-way grip arm tripods also will be available for faculty and students to use with the GoPro cameras. The new GoPro cameras will support the college’s teaching/learning process through their use in labs and classrooms as well as individual and group student assignments outside of class.
Training for faculty use of the cameras will take place by appointment by Kyra Garrigue in the Faculty Resources Room (BTC 1052) The Instructional Media Center’s multimedia rooms and equipment will be available for use as editing suites for faculty and students. The GoPro editing software also may be loaded on a faculty member’s lab/office computer.
This new educational resource initiative was made possible through the collaboration of the Strategic Technology Plan Committee, Center for Effective Teaching, Digital Arts and Media Program, Information Technology Services and the Instructional Media Center.
