Being named to Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges is among the most prestigious honors a student can receive.
To be considered for this competitive recognition, students must have completed 24 credit hours at Hudson Valley Community College by the end of the fall 2014 semester; have matriculated; have a 3.2 or higher cumulative GPA at the end of the fall 2014 semester; and demonstrated active participation or leadership in voluntary extracurricular activities and/or voluntary community service while enrolled at Hudson Valley Community College. (GPAs and credit hours will be confirmed at the end of the fall 2014 semester.) Complete details are found on the nomination form available on the college’s Web site at www.hvcc.edu/staff/whos-who.pdf or in GUN 159.
If you meet the criteria for this competitive award and want to be considered for this honor, please complete the following steps:
- Since a faculty or staff member may not be aware of your qualifications, please share your interest in being considered for the award and ask if he/she would be interested in recommending you for the award.
- If the faculty or staff member is agreeable, please list your extracurricular or community service activities on the form along with the dates of activities.
- Work with the faculty or staff member and have him or her complete additional qualifications or examples of leadership in the appropriate place on the form.
- A signature of the Chairperson of your degree program is required.
- Please sign the recommendation form and have it returned to the Vice President for Enrollment Management and Student Development, Guenther Enrollment Services Center, Room 159, by Dec. 1, 2014.
- The one-page application must be fully completed to be considered by the Who’s Who Recommendation Committee.
Because of the competitive nature of the award, not every nominee will necessarily progress in the process; however, being considered for the award is extremely noteworthy.
Please contact Eileen Maloney at e.maloney@hvcc.edu or (518) 629-7307 with any questions related to Who’s Who.
Good fortune and thank you!
