Area colleges, including Hudson Valley Community College, are reviving Accelerate518, an initiative to connect students, entrepreneurs and those leading entrepreneurial efforts at the region’s many schools.
Leaders have been formalizing the revamped Accelerate518 initiative for about a year, and area colleges are hosting a startup series, where students can attend a variety of seminars in preparation for the annual statewide business plan competition in the spring.

As part of the startup series, Hudson Valley is hosting an Accelerate 518 Startup Finance Day on Saturday, Nov. 22 in the BTC from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Through workshops and group discussion, Finance Day will introduce various financial modeling tools, including sales and profit projections, pro-forma statement creation, equity verse debt financing, and the use of angel and venture capital financing. Delivered through workshops and group discussion.
