Sandra Hutchison, part-time English instructor, will appear Saturday, Jan. 24 at 1 pm at the Sand Lake Town Library along with the Rev. Robert Loesch as they discuss their new books.
Hutchison, author of the novel “The Awful Mess: A Love Story,” will introduce her second novel, “The Ribs and Thigh Bones of Desire” (Sheer Hubris Press, 2014). The Rev. Robert Loesch, author of “The Day the Drum Stopped and Other Stories,” will introduce his nonfiction book “One Year: The Ministries of One Parish and Pastor,” (Troy Book Makers, 2014).
Hutchison’s new novel, set in the 1970s, follows the difficult coming of age of both a teenage girl and the thirty-something widower across the street, and is also available on Kindle. (That’s a Virginia Woolf quotation in the title, if you’re wondering.) Rev. Loesch’s new book describes one year in the life and ministries of Zion’s United Church of Christ of Taborton in Sand Lake. Both books also are available at Market Block Books in Troy.
Both authors will have copies of their books for sale. Hutchison will donate $2 per paper copy sold to the Sand Lake Town Library; her books are $16.19 each, including sales tax, made out to Market Block Books. Loesch’s proceeds go to ministries of the local church; his books are $18 each, including sales tax, made out to Zion’s United Church of Christ.
Snow date is Sunday, Jan. 25 at the same time. The Sand Lake Town Library is located behind Town Hall at the intersection of routes 66 and 43. Phone: 674-5050; web: sandlaketownlibrary.org.
