Feb. 17: “Created Equal” film screening and discussion

Join us for two events from the Created Equal: America’s Civil Rights Struggle series today:

Tuesday, February 17
1 – 1:50 p.m.
Multipurpose Room (2nd Floor)
Marvin Library Learning Commons

Join a moderated discussion of themes of The Abolitionists shown in excerpted form. Student leaders My’Asia Colon and Kilijah Crumpler will moderate. Both Colon and Crumpler are Student Senators and executive officers in the Black and Latino Student Union. Refreshments will be provided by the Student Senate. Note: this program will focus on personal response and reflection on highlights from the series identified by the discussion leaders; scholar moderators will not be participating in this event.

Full film screening follows the discussion
2 – 5 p.m.

View the three-part series in full. Refreshments available while supplies last! Can’t get to the film screening? Watch the series online.

Created Equal: America’s Civil Rights Struggle is made possible through a major grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities, as part of its Bridging Cultures initiative, in partnership with the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History.
