In the All College Meeting presentation, President Matonak shared the news that a new Orientation Model will be introduced for the Fall 2015 enrollment cycle. Please see the information below to help effectively communicate with incoming students regarding Orientation, and to see when Information Sessions will be occurring over the next two weeks.
Communications
To provide the best customer service, it is recommended that all students asking about Orientation be looked up in Banner to identify their current major.
All declared Nursing and Dental Hygiene students will be notified by letter about the specific day/time they need to attend Orientation.
For all other students, please ask the following question:
Have you attended Hudson Valley or any college after graduating from high school?
If yes, students may contact the academic department now to learn about the course registration process for the summer and/or fall 2015 semesters. Please provide them with the department’s phone number.
If no, students will receive a letter from the Office of Testing, Advisement and Academic Placement beginning in March instructing them to either take the placement test or sign up for New Student Orientation.
College-wide Orientation Information Sessions
All members of the campus are invited to attend any of the following sessions. Additional members of the Enrollment and Orientation Committees will be present to take part in the presentation and/or address questions from the attendees.
Monday, Feb. 23 at 2:15 p.m.
Academic Senate Meeting (BTC Meeting Rooms)
A brief presentation will be given by Matthew Howe on behalf of the Enrollment and Orientation Committees at Academic Senate regarding the new Orientation Model.
Thursday, Feb. 26 from 1 to 2 p.m. (BTC Meeting Rooms)
A full presentation will be led by Matthew Howe on behalf of the Enrollment and Orientation Committees to all attendees regarding the new Orientation Model.
Thursday, March 5 from 1 to 2 p.m. (BTC Meeting Rooms)
A full presentation will be led by Matthew Howe on behalf of the Enrollment and Orientation Committees to all attendees regarding the new Orientation Model.
