The college held its first “Discussion About Death, with Dessert” on Wednesday night in the Siek Campus Center. The event, which was facilitated by adjunct instructor Heidi Parker of the Bereavement Studies certificate program, was attended by nine people who came to share their personal stories and beliefs about death, dying and making the most of life.
The one-and-a-half hour discussion touched on many topics and followed the Death Cafe model, which is growing in popularity around the world. Brownies, cookies and beverages were available to the participants.
