Graduate from Nepal asks for help with earthquake relief

Below is an e-mail received from one of our graduates regarding the Nepal earthquake.

Dear all,

As you must already know that people of Nepal experienced a massive earthquake and aftershocks that has caused enormous infrastructural damages, and human casualties. At least more than 4,600 people are dead, over 9,000 injured due to massive earthquake which hit Nepal on Saturday April 25, 2015, according to CNN report. Eight million people are affected across Nepal. One million children are in need of urgent help. Vast tent cities have sprung up in the country as hundreds and thousands people have become homeless. Survivors with houses are scared to live indoor because of continuous aftershocks. Most of the survivors spent last 3 nights in open space under no roof in rainy condition. They have experienced over 75 aftershocks in past 3 days days. My immediate family members are physically okay but mentally traumatized. Many people that I know are unaccounted for. The block that I grew up has turned into rubble. My country and countrymen are in pain. They do not have electricity, so communication and network in very scanty. People are struggling to find food and water and medicines. Hospitals over there needs basic medical supplies. I would like to plea for help from you and your community. Every dollar counts. There are many organizations that are actively involved in accepting donations for relief support. Some of them are Oxfam International, UNICEF, International RedCross, Globalgiving.
