George Raneri, secretary to the college’s Board of Trustees and a retired public school administrator, will be honored by the School Administrators Association of New York State (Region 6) at its annual awards dinner on May 14 in Glenville.
Raneri’s 50 years of membership in and service to SAANYS will be recognized “as an expression of sincere gratitude for your longstanding dedication to public education.” Association Chairman Jennifer Drautz also said, “Reaching your golden anniversary as a SAANYS member is a wonderful milestone worthy of recognition. Your service and dedication certainly serves as a model for your peers.”
Raneri’s career as a public school administrator spanned 40 years, including 34 years as an elementary school principal in the Averill Park School District. He served as a Hudson Valley Trustee from 1981 through 1998, and was named secretary in 2000.
SAANYS Region 6 has more than 900 members in Albany, Columbia, Fulton, Greene, Hamilton, Montgomery, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Schoharie, Warren, and Washington counties
