Several labs in Brahan Hall are being converted to classroom spaces, and old carpet is being replaced in multiple office areas on the building’s first floor and terrace level.
The glue under the old floor tiles is asbestos-containing and any disturbance of the tiles must be done by an asbestos abatement contractor. Op-Tech Environmental will be removing the carpets and conducting asbestos abatement as needed for any damaged or loosened floor tiles.
Work has begun in the labs and will continue throughout the summer. Work is being scheduled to minimize the impact to classes and departments. If there are any questions or concerns about the project, please contact Environmental Health and Safety or Physical Plant.
