SUNY Cobleskill will be offering a B.S. in Early Childhood Studies beginning Fall 2016 with all classes held on the Hudson Valley Community College campus.
Cobleskill officials were on campus earlier this week to sign the agreement.
Similar to partnerships the college has with SUNY Plattsburgh for Criminal Justice and Cazenovia College for Human Services, the new offering will allow students to complete a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education right on the Hudson Valley campus.
The college has an articulation in place for students to transfer into this program. According to Department Chair Dawn Kolakoski, the Cobleskill B.S. at Hudson Valley is ideally suited for those who hold an A.A.S. in Early Childhood, or equivalent 60 credits, with a 2.5 grade point average.
Dr. Marion A. Terenzio, president, and Dr. Susan J. Zimmerman, provost and vice president for academic affairs, represented SUNY Cobleskill at the signing ceremony. Says Dr. Terenzio: “We are committed to the quality of education from the earliest learning experiences onward and are proud to increase access to this exceptional program and outstanding faculty.”
