I am pleased to announce that a New Student Orientation assessment committee has been formed with volunteers from the Academic Senate and employees invited by me.

As I mentioned in a Campus Chronicle post on Feb. 29, the group will bring forward recommendations to improve our orientation model for the Spring 2017 registration cycle. With feedback from our campus community, some changes have been implemented since orientation was instituted nearly a year ago. Our goal now is to provide a more comprehensive and collaborative review to inform future decisions.
I thank those serving on the committee and am confident that their efforts will reinforce a positive first experience for our students.
