Voices Lecture on the Hudson River on Thursday, April 7

The Voices: A Library Lecture Series committee is pleased to present “Hudson River Issues: Threats and Opportunities” by Manna Jo Greene, director of environmental action of Hudson River Sloop Clearwater on Thursday, April 7 at noon in the BTC Auditorium.

The Hudson River provides natural beauty, recreational opportunities and important ecological services. Despite its wonderful assets, the river still faces serious threats from PCBs, the impacts of power plants, industrial discharges and toxic chemicals. Manna Jo Greene will trace the progress as well as the obstacles and challenges still facing this important national treasure.
