If you enjoy helping others and have a few hours a week to devote to a part-time, on-campus job then Peer Tutoring may be just the thing for you.
Peer Tutors must be:
— a currently registered student at Hudson Valley Community College
— on the President’s or Dean’s List
— a quality student with a recommendation from a faculty member for the course in which you wish to tutor.
To apply to be a Peer Tutor:
1) Pick up an application in the Learning Assistance Center on the lower level of the Marvin Library Learning Commons or send an e-mail to d.frament@hvcc.edu.
2) Ask a faculty member for a recommendation and have them send it to Don Frament via e-mail (d.frament@hvcc.edu) or interoffice mail (Don Frament, MRV001).
3) Return your completed application to Don Frament in the LAC.
You will be contacted once we receive the faculty recommendation.
You must successfully complete an interview and Peer Tutor training in order to be hired.
Peer tutoring is a paid student worker position.
