College receives $20,000 grant

The Grants Office at Hudson Valley Community College recently received a $20,000 grant from the William Gundry Broughton Charitable Private Foundation. The funds will support College in the High School scholarships for students from low to moderate income households. In particular, it will allow the college to assist students from families without a legacy of college attendance.

Hudson Valley’s College in the High School offers more than 90 college-level courses during the regular school day at high schools across the Capital Region. The program gives students an opportunity to experience college-level coursework while still in high school and at a decreased cost. Tuition for College in the High School students is reduced to $50 per credit hour.

The William Gundry Broughton Charitable Private Foundation also provided grants of $15,000 to support College in the High School students in 2007, 2010 and 2014.
