Peter Fil, instructor in the CADD certificate program, competed in the first Pan Am Mulimpia in Las Vegas this summer to win a gold medal for individual form and a silver medal in paper cutting in Haidong Gumdo (Way of the Sword).
Mulimpia refers to the world class martial arts tournament, where martial artists gather from all over the world to put their skills on display. Martial arts included Taekwondo, Haidong Gumdo, Tangsoodo, Hosinsul, along with cutting and breaking technique competitions.
Peter trains in Haidong Gumdo regularly at Master Yang’s Martial Arts Center in Latham and has taken seminars in Alpha Krav Maga and Gracie Jiu Jitsu.
