Welcome Mazzone Hospitality

Please join me in welcoming Mazzone Hospitality to our campus!

As many of you know, Mazzone Hospitality was appointed as campus dining services provider this spring and began service in May. During the summer, operating under the PRIME Business Dining logo, the Mazzone team provided breakfast and lunch daily in the newly renovated PRIME Beat cafe on the first floor of the Campus Center, as well as catered events throughout the campus. During this time, Mazzone staff also were busy developing menus, redesigning facilities and upgrading equipment.

Their efforts have resulted in cafes that now offer exciting menus in inviting settings. These include BBQ plates and smokehouse sandwiches at PRIME Pit Stop in Williams Hall; coffee, smoothies and pastries at PRIME Beat in the Campus Center; Mexican, Italian, deli and grill specialties in PRIME at HVCC on the second floor of the Campus Center; sandwiches, smoothies, bowls and daily specials at Books & Bites in the Marvin Library Learning Commons; and grab and go sandwiches, salads and beverages at PRIME Elements in the Science Center.

Please check out the PRIME Business Dining webpage under Food Services in the online campus directory for hours and full menu details.

Heading up the PRIME Business Dining management team are Jon Simmons, director of operations and Jessica Henesy, sales and operations manager.

With over 16 years in the industry, Jon has previously worked for the Mallozzi Group as chef de cuisine at the Italian Community Center, executive chef at the Brown Derby and executive chef for Classe Catering. Jon joined Mazzone Hospitality in 2013, working in both the Catering and Business Dining divisions. He is known to develop a strong rapport with his guests, a trait which makes him an excellent fit for his role as our Director of Operations. On a personal note, in August, Jon, his wife and toddler son welcomed a new baby girl into their family.

Jessica Henesy also joined Mazzone Hospitality in 2013 and served as an opening team member for PRIME at the Empire State Plaza and was later promoted to the PRIME Business Division’s administrative assistant, working with the division’s executive team to oversee account operations. A graduate of Catholic University with a BA in Studio Art, Jessica worked in sales and marketing before pursuing her passion for the hospitality and culinary industries. Jessica went on to receive her Grand Diplome in Classic Culinary Arts from the French Culinary Institute. She has also worked as a sales rep/fishmonger for Sea to Table in Brooklyn and at the Healthy Living Market in Saratoga Springs. Jessica’s training and diverse work history is well suited for her role as our Sales and Operations Manager.
