Wassa Pan Afrika Dance Ensemble
Thursday, September 22 at noon
Maureen Stapleton Theatre
Nana Kwasi Anim, dance and drumming master, leads Wassa Pan Afrika, a 20-member troupe of elite African dancers and drummers. Now in the U.S., the group has brought its high-energy performance, and message of peace and unity to Europe, Australia and West Africa. From royal court dances to ancient rituals, the dances combine gymnastics, foot-stomping rhythms, and brilliantly colored costumes and props.
The event, open free to the campus community and public, is presented by the Cultural Affairs Program.
