The Hudson Valley Community College Foundation now is accepting applications for Second Chance Scholarships. The application deadline is Friday, Oct. 7.
Second Chance Scholarships are aimed at students who not only have financial need, but who also have overcome tremendous personal obstacles in order to pursue an education. The goal of the program is to reward those who demonstrate the initiative and desire to achieve self-sufficiency through education. Recipients also are rewarded for academic success; the higher your grades, the more the award.
Students must write an essay and submit at least one letter of recommendation. There are 10 to 15 scholarships available. The application packet is available online at:
