The Foundation Scholarship Committee would like to remind all faculty and staff that the Faculty Staff Scholarship for Dependents of HVCC Employees is available to dependents who meet the following eligibility requirements:
- Must be a full-time matriculated student in Fall 2017
- Must have a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher (or high school equivalent)
- Must meet the guidelines of dependent status as stated in the federal financial aid guidelines
- Current students should apply for all scholarships for which they might be eligible at http://www.hvcc.edu/scholarships/returning.html and then complete a separate application/verification form which is available by emailing scholarships@hvcc.edu or by stopping by the Foundation Offices in Fitzgibbons 131 across from the Dental Hygiene Clinic. Students enrolling for the first time in Fall 2017 should fill out the paper application which is available online at http://www.hvcc.edu/scholarships/incoming.pdf.
Before applying, please keep in mind the following:
Many scholarships require submission of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Please be sure your FAFSA is on file before applying for scholarships.
The application process requires one, 250-word essay describing your educational and vocational objectives. This essay is used for all scholarships for which you apply – there is no need to write separate essays for each scholarship.
Please apply for all scholarships that are listed for you even if a secondary message screen indicates you may not be eligible for that particular scholarship.
