Looking for help: March for Science in Albany on April 22

As part of the nation-wide “March for Science” on April 22, there will be a rally in Albany from 3 to 6 p.m. around the Empire State Plaza in downtown Albany. This will be a non-partisan celebration of science, the scientists who practice it, and the importance of science to all of us.

In addition to speakers, including U.S. Representative Paul Tonko, there will be activity tables for people to explore science, related Earth Day events, and the march.

I am the college liaison here at Hudson Valley and invite faculty, staff, and students who are interested in helping out to email me (j.thompson@hvcc.edu) with Science in the subject line.

We have gotten clearance from administration to advertise this as long as it does not become a class assignment or requirement. So, here’s what we can do:

  • Design and post flyers around campus and in the community
  • Recruit folks to help run activity tables
  • Advertise with others in our communities: elementary, middle and high schools, and other community groups like Scouts, and anybody else we think might be interested
