If you enjoy helping others and have a few hours a week in your schedule to devote to a part-time, on-campus job, then Peer Tutoring may be just the thing for you!
Requirements for Peer Tutors:
— Must be a currently registered student at Hudson Valley Community College.
— On the President’s or Dean’s List and have a faculty recommendation.
— Or be a quality student with a recommendation from a faculty member for the course in which you wish to tutor.
To apply to be a Peer Tutor:
— Pick up an application in the Learning Assistance Center on the lower level of the Marvin Library Learning Commons or send an email to d.frament@hvcc.edu.
— Ask a faculty member for a recommendation and have them send it to Don Frament via email (d.frament@hvcc.edu) or interoffice mail (Don Frament, MRV 001).
— Return your completed application to Don Frament in the LAC.
— You will be contacted once we receive the faculty recommendation.
— You must successfully complete an interview and Peer Tutor Training in order to be hired.
— Peer tutoring is a paid student worker position.
