Film Tuesday at 7 p.m.: Gerhard Richter Painting

Gerhard Richter Painting
Tuesday, Oct. 9
7 to 9 p.m.
Bulmer Telecommunications Center Auditorium

One of the greatest living painters, German artist Gerhard Richter has spent more than half a century experimenting with a tremendous range of techniques and ideas, addressing historical crises and mass media, alongside explorations of chance procedures. Infamously media-shy, he agreed to appear on camera for the first time in 15 years for a 2007 short by filmmaker Corinna Belz called Gerhard Richter’s Window.  This is her follow-up film — a thrilling document of Richter’s creative process, juxtaposed with intimate conversations and rare archive material.

This event is part of the MoHu Arts Festival, 10-day celebration of arts in the region of the Mohawk and Hudson rivers, and presented by the Cultural Affairs Program.
