Six Receive 2017 SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Excellence; Five named President’s Award recipients

 

Six faculty and staff members from Hudson Valley Community College were named recipients of the prestigious SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Excellence for 2017. Instituted in 1972 by the State University of New York, the Chancellor’s Award recognizes exceptional contributions to the university by dedicated professionals. Since its inception, 165 faculty and staff members from Hudson Valley Community College have received the Chancellor’s Award.

Recipients are:

  • Alice M. Busman, Program Assistant, Academics II, Fine Arts, Theatre Arts and Digital Media / Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Classified Service
  • Melissa M. Coon, Associate Director, Office of Admissions / Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Professional Service
  • Ian M. LaChance, Assistant Registrar, Office of the Registrar / Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Professional Service
  • David E. Scott, Jr., Associate Registrar, Office of the Registrar / Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Professional Service
  • Tara A. Fracalossi, Assistant Professor, Fine Arts, Theatre Arts and Digital Media / 2017 Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Teaching
  • Joseph M. Stenard, Assistant Professor, History, Philosophy and Social Sciences / 2017 Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Teaching

In addition, four staff members received 2017 President’s Award for Excellence in College Service and one faculty member received the 2017 President’s Award for Excellence in Teaching

They are:

  • John K. Dyson, Technical Assistant, Instructional Support Services and Retention / College Service
  • Tara L. Farley-Wyckoff, Technical Assistant, Center for Effective Teaching / College Service
  • Domenica G. Hall, Technical Assistant, Office of the Registrar / College Service
  • Patricia G. Hyland, Department Chairperson, Cardiorespiratory and Emergency Medicine / College Service
  • Philip D. Burtt, Assistant Professor, Biology, Chemistry and Physics / Teaching

 

More details on the honorees will be forthcoming. They will be recognized as part of the 2017 Faculty Staff Honors Convocation, which will take place 4:30 p.m., Thursday, May 4 in the Maureen Stapleton Theatre.
