(Rain date: Sunday, May 21)
$15 per person
Have you ever seen a Bluebird or heard an Oriole sing? Want to try something new? Beginners are welcome on Oakwood’s annual Rite of Spring Bird Walk. Get some gentle exercise on this easy stroll as we explore a variety of habitats. There’s a good chance we’ll see returning migrants and we’ll keep an eye out for an Indigo bunting, Red-tailed hawk and maybe even a Bald Eagle. Bring binoculars if you have them and wear sensible shoes. A few loaner binoculars may be available. Not appropriate for dogs. Registration requested; please call 1-800-556-6273. Pay on arrival. Group assembles near the Gardner Earl Chapel flagpole off Oakwood Avenue/Route 40 in Troy (GPS 186 Oakwood Ave., Troy).
