Scott Freiman, the composer and musician who may be best known for “deconstructing” Beatles’ albums, is on campus Thursday, May 4 in the BTC Auditorium. His 11 a.m. in-depth, multimedia exploration of Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band is open and free to all.
Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band is “the greatest album of all time,” according to Rolling Stone magazine, describing it as “the most important rock & roll album ever made, an unsurpassed adventure in concept, sound, songwriting, cover art and studio technology by the greatest rock & roll group of all time.” Freiman examines Sgt. Pepper from many angles, exploring the history behind the music and leading his audiences on an amazing journey into the creative process of The Beatles’ performances and recording sessions. His presentation is an eye (and ear) opener even for die-hard Beatles’ fans, who already recognize Sgt. Pepper as a masterpiece, and fosters a newfound appreciation for the incredible talents of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr.
