SUNY Chancellor’s Awards with their statewide recognition just were presented last Thursday, so it now is time to make your nominations for the 2018 group. This statewide award is one of the highest that faculty and staff can receive for the excellent work they do every day here at Hudson Valley Community College.
One rumor that has gone around over the years is that it is a difficult process to undertake. To ease those worries, please be aware that nominees are asked for the following items: a vitae, a letter explaining what the nominee’s philosophy is and what they do in their job that is worthy of recognition, and in some cases a sample or two of the unique methods that they use. The committee provides a letter that can be sent by the nominee and nominator to contacts for letters of support that will provide the committee with evidence that supports the nomination. Committee support is available throughout the process.
The committee looks forward to receiving nominations for the following teaching awards: Excellence in Teaching, Excellence in Faculty Service, Excellence in Adjunct Teaching, Excellence in Librarianship, and Excellence in Scholarship and Creative Activities.
Committee members also seek nominees on the professional side for Excellence in Professional Service and Excellence in Classified Service, while department chairs are recognized with the Faculty Service Award.
Please see the criteria for each award posted here.

Nominations are due to Don Frament (MRV 001) by Wednesday, June 14, 2017.
