Back by popular demand, this tour is led by local historian Michael Barrett to the lesser-known northern section of this fabulous rural cemetery. After a peek inside the opulent Gardner Earl Memorial Chapel and Crematorium, visit the plots of the Burdens, the Gilberts, the Griswolds, the Eddys, the Gurleys, the Harts, the Ides and other prominent families in Troy’s history. Jointly sponsored with the Hudson Mohawk Industrial Gateway, this is a NYS Path Through History event.

SCULPTURE ARTISTRY TOUR

19th-century rural cemeteries are known for their beautiful sculptures and their lovely landscaping, and this is the perfect time of day to enjoy both. Join Rensselaer County Historian Kathy Sheehan for a walking tour and discussion of the artists and sculptors, who created these enduring monuments of stone and bronze.
