Benetech recently made changes to its Flexible Spending Account procedures.
This is what happened to me:
I received a notice in the mail several weeks after visiting the dentist stating my ‘Benny’ card would be deactivated if I did not submit documentation to back up my claim within 30 days. Failure to provide credible certification would require me to pay back the amount in full. This is the first time I ever had this happen; I had to go back to the dentist and get an itemized statement to get the claim approved.
Benetech referred me to a mailing they sent out in April regarding a more rigid approach to substantiating our claims. I have attached a copy of the letter Benetech sent to us here in hopes that you do not have the same experience.
