College’s Office of Institutional Advancement re-established

I am pleased to announce that the Office of Institutional Advancement is re-established under the direction of Regina LaGatta, interim executive director/chief advancement officer, and completes a plan I announced at the All College Meeting in January.

The office’s goal is to coordinate all alumni and philanthropic initiatives to best advance the mission of the college and Office of the President. It recognizes the critically important task of engaging corporate partners, donors and alumni in our mission and coordinates the efforts of the Foundation and Alumni Association.

The Foundation’s role to foster enduring relationships that build advocacy and support of Hudson Valley Community College has not changed. By seeking external resources and grants, the Foundation will continue to promote the college’s educational programs and services, and to enhance its institutional goals and objectives.

Effective immediately, Cheryl Beauchamp, director of grants, reports to the interim executive director/chief advancement officer, and will relocate her office to FTZ 131 by Aug. 1. The grants director most recently reported to Dr. Michael Green, vice president for Technology, Institutional Assessment and Planning.

The college’s original Office of Institutional Advancement functioned from fall 2002 through fall 2010.
