E-books, or electronic books, now represent nearly half of the Marvin Library collection. Learn how to access e-books from the library’s Web site from your home or office. We will review how e-books are selected and used and discuss the quality of content available from this format. No special hardware devices are required; we’ll use standard desktop PCs for the workshop.

Successful Communication in the Workplace
This interactive workshop heightens awareness of how we communicate with our colleagues, emphasizing the various methodologies and technologies now available to us. The power of listening as an active component of communication will be emphasized. Participants will identify communication strategies to overcome resistance and conflict. Also included will be an overview of common communication pitfalls, the use of non-verbal skills for greater impact and the value of assertiveness in being an effective communicator.
