Building an Effective Advising Process
All members of the Hudson Valley Academic Advising Community (Advisors/DCs/Support Staff, etc…) are invited to attend this event similar to the NACADA Drive-in Conferences that offer participants a half-day seminar to discuss current advising practices and network with fellow advising colleagues.
Topics for discussion will include:
Ground Breakers: Academic Advising at HVCC
Don’t Sweat It: Advising the Difficult Student
Design on a Dime: Making Advising “Fit” in Your Space
This mini-conference will take place Friday, June 17 at HVCC’s Jordan Road facility. Check in will be at 9 a.m. with workshops from 9:15 a.m. to noon, followed by a brown-bag lunch from noon to p.m.
So grab your hard hats or garden gloves and get ready to dig into this exciting opportunity to spend some constructive time with your colleagues.
Attendees will receive three hours of Academic Advising Certificate credit in the area of their choice.
Join fellow advising faculty and staff for an off-campus morning of professional development.
