Access to library textbook collection for summer courses

Starting Tuesday, May 26, the Dwight Marvin Library is offering a new, temporary service to provide access to the print textbook collection that is unavailable for borrowing while the campus and the library are closed. The college recommends that students purchase or rent their course textbooks; the campus bookstore is open virtually for sales and rentals.

The library’s textbook collection provides temporary access to students who do not have their course textbook(s). During the summer semester while the campus and library are closed, students may use the Textbook Excerpt Request Form online. View the full list of available textbooks.

Note the following:

  • Limit of one chapter per day per course
  • Requests are filled Monday — Friday between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.
  • Requests must be made from student’s HVCC email address
  • Filled requests are for the use of the student who requested the material and may not be forwarded or posted to others.

The temporary, free access to online textbooks available since the campus shutdown was ended by the participating publishers on May 25.
