Adjunct fine arts faculty members included in local exhibition

Adjunct digital media instructors Julie Pamkowski, who teaches photography, and Jason Kates van Staveren, who teaches animation, are participating in Parallell Realities, an exhibition opening Friday, Jan. 26 at Collar Works in downtown Troy.

Parallel Realities is an exploration of the concept of mentorships within artistic practice. Collar Works invited 14 artists, who selected an emerging artist they had mentored and whose work has a connection to their own with which to exhibit side by side in Parallel Realities. Pamkowski’s work is paired with that of Mike Glier and van Staveren’s work is paired with Susan Mastrangelo’s.

An opening reception is scheduled for 5 to 8 p.m. on Jan. 26 and the exhibition is on view through March 17, noon to 6 p.m. Thursday and Friday, noon to 5 p.m. Saturday or by appointment.

Collar Works (www.collarworks.org/(518) 285-0765) is located at 621 River St., Troy.
