Join the Friends of Oakwood Cemetery on Saturday, May 18 at 8 a.m. for a morning stroll through the cemetery. Get in your daily steps while you experience what the beauty nature has to offer.
Knowledgeable guides will lead participants to a variety of habitats to look for migrating birds and other wildlife. Bluebirds, orioles, a muskrat, deer, as well as vultures and hawks have been seen on past walk. Bring binoculars if you have them; a few pair of binoculars will be available for loan.
Pre-registration is requested at (518) 328-0090. Pay on arrival, $15 per person. The group will assemble at the Earl Chapel at the Oakwood Avenue entrance. Raindate is May 19. Check Facebook for updates.
The Friends of Oakwood is a non-profit, volunteer group working to support the preservation and maintenance of the non-sectarian Earl Chapel and grounds of Troy’s still-active historic 19th century Oakwood Cemetery. New members are always welcome.
