APT Department Chair Presents to California State University Group

On March 24, Dr. Chris McNally, chair of Applied Technologies Department, presented HVCC’s NSF/ATE grant funded project “Vehicle to Grid Charging Educational Initiative” (V2GEI) to the California State University’s “Community of Practice.”

The Community of Practice is a group of CSU faculty and staff, who are seeking to improve their university’s clean energy curriculum through collaboration within the CSU system and with external entities. The project is funded by the Pacific Gas and Electric Energy Group,

Through the V2GEI program, HVCC is designing educational modules to prepare technicians to service both electric vehicles and EV charging stations. These modules are intended to be easily incorporated into existing applied technology programs allowing colleges to address the employment needs in this rapidly-expanding field. Through this program, the Applied Technologies Department will be working with CSU’s Community of Practice and similar groups to disseminate these educational materials.
