The Assessment and Institutional Effectiveness (AIE) Committee met on Jan. 29, 2019, at 1 p.m. The meeting minutes are as follows:
Dr. Geehan opened the meeting at 1 p.m. The committee then resumed the task of reviewing Middle States Accreditation Standard VII – Governance, Leadership and Administration – and identified college resources/entities that are directed toward meeting that standard. The overall purpose of this ongoing effort is to ensure that Hudson Valley meets or exceeds all required Standards in preparation for the next MSCHE visit to the college, which is currently slated for 2023. The ultimate goal is to identify areas of strength and weakness in order to begin early preparation for addressing areas that need work and maintaining those that are at or above target. These topics generated rigorous discussion and discovery of means by which college decision making is informed by shared governance element.
The committee held over a plan to also review the MS Standards of Affiliation, which it will take up at the next meeting. Also slated for the next meeting is committee review of the 2019 Employee Opinion Survey, which is scheduled to be conducted in February 2019.
The meeting was adjourned at 2 p.m. The next meeting is Feb. 12.
Subsequent meetings are scheduled for Feb. 26, March 12, March 26, April 9, April 23, May 7 and May 21.
