The Assessment and Institutional Effectiveness (AIE) Committee met on Oct. 9, 2018 at 1 p.m. The meeting minutes are as follows:
Dr. Geehan opened the meeting at 1 p.m. with a continued review of the Core Indicators (CIs) of Institutional Effectiveness, with a goal of refining them for future use. Dr. Geehan requested input from the committee regarding additional categories for the Pluralism measurement with CI #3.
Mr. Slavin suggested that retention data, broken out by Hudson Valley Community College Program could shed light on retention challenges in specific areas at the college. Discussion ensued surrounding Distance Learning course offering growth 2013-2018. It was noted that increasing DL opportunities was established as a Strategic Priority of the college. Levels have increased moderately.
In the area of Goal 4, Technology of Campus Environment, it was suggested that mobile network access be added to the Student Survey to maintain awareness of student perception of this vital area.
The CI review, starting with 5.3, would be continued at the next AIE meeting on Oct. 23. The meeting was adjourned at 2 p.m.
The Fall 2018 schedule includes AIE meetings on Nov. 6, Nov. 27 and Dec. 11.
