The Assessment and Institutional Effectiveness (AIE) Committee met on Jan. 28 at 1 p.m. The meeting minutes are as follows:
Dr. Geehan opened meeting with an update on the Nuventive software and Employee Satisfaction Survey. The survey is complete and will be sent out to employees next week. Committee membes discussed the Student Satisfaction Survey (handouts were provided). A survey time frame is to be determined. Dr. Geehan discussed that the last administration of the Student Survey was the SUNY version. This year it will be the Hudson Valley version.
Committee members discussed Questions 1-3 College Impressions. Comment boxes are available for these questions, directions to “add comments if applicable” will be included.
Question 6 — A recommendation was made to add an “academic background/preparedness/family support” question. Additional suggestion were made to measure OER impact and add “Earn credits and move on to another college.”
Question 7 — Suggestion: add “Accessing faculty outside of classroom.” Suggestion: change 7i to read “Availability of academic support services.”
Question 13: Remove 13a (already appears in 7i). Change 13b to read “College’s technology.” Change 13c to read “Computer accessibility.” Change 13d to read “Campus Internet Access.” Better define 13f. Suggestion made to break apart 13g. Make public safety services (Alertus system, parking passes, etc.). Changes made to this area will lead to the removal of 17g. 13k. add more wording referencing maps, assistance finding their way around campus. 13l. reword to read “Accessibility of the campus for those with disabilities” or “The conditions of the campus for those with disabilities.”
Remove Question 14a. Change the wording of 14c to read “Student Portal/Wired.” Add a category to this section that asks about “Satisfaction with information through social media, mobile technology/friendliness.”
A suggestion also was made to ask students (perhaps at Student Senate) for opinion of the Survey.
The meeting was adjourned at 2 p.m.
