The Assessment and Institutional Effectiveness Committee met on Aug. 24, 2021. The meeting minutes follow.
Dr. Margaret Geehan opened the meeting at 1 p.m.
Updates
Middle States
Joe Stenard provided an update on Middle States. The Core Team recently arranged an on-campus picnic lunch for members of the Working Group. This provided a chance for the Core Team to thank members of the Working Group for their time and work on the Middle States process. Joe spoke about the work to be done during the upcoming academic year.
SUNY Student Satisfaction Survey (SSSS)
The full results, including the comparisons with other SUNY community colleges, of the system-wide survey are not yet available.
Nuventive
Meg Mann provided an update on the changes being made within the Nuventive system. During the summer months, the Institutional Assessment Office met to discuss feedback they received, during the previous assessment cycle. Nuventive users provided thoughts and comments during training sessions and those providing the training became aware of trouble spots that users were encountering. The office then worked with Nuventive to incorporate changes into the system that will allow for a more seamless experience.
APs and Ups (Assessment Cycle)
The next assessment cycle (2020-2021) is coming up. The Institutional Assessment Office will be offering training/information sessions
Accreditation Importance
Dr. Geehan presented the committee with information highlighting the importance of accreditation, the difference between public and private institutions and profit and not for profit.
The meeting was adjourned at 1:50 p.m.
Subsequent meetings: Sept. 14, Sept. 28 and Oct. 19
The next meeting will be “in-person” with a Zoom option.
Respectfully,
Meg Mann
