Assessment and Institutional Effectiveness Committee minutes for Oct. 18

The Assessment and Institutional Effectiveness Committee met on Oct. 18. Minutes for the meeting, held mostly via Zoom, follow.

Dr. Margaret Geehan and Meg Mann opened the meeting at 1 p.m.

Middle States Update
Geehan and Joe Stenard told the group that they are close to sending out the draft of the Middle States Document to the campus community. [The Self-Study was sent to Dr. McDonough and the Campus Community as of Friday, Oct. 21.]

Members were reminded of the two upcoming Middle States visits:
The preliminary visit by just Dr. McDonough will be in November.
The entire Middle States review group will visit in April 2023.

Campus Climate Survey
The co-chairs reported that they were working on a “redo” of the Campus Climate Surveys based on recent feedback. Senior Staff needs to review and approve these changes before the new version of the survey can go out.

Core Indicators
Committee members continued to review Core Indicators criteria by criteria to determine what, if any changes, are needed.  and decided whether to keep each or change it. Criteria 3.31 through 5.1.1 were examined.

IE Plan
Dr. Geehan asked the group to look over the 2014 IE Plan handout, which will be updated during future meetings.

The meeting was adjourned at 2 p.m.

Subsequent meetings dates for the Fall 2022 semester are Nov. 8 and Nov. 20.

Respectfully submitted,
Caitlyn Gerardi
