The Assessment and Institutional Effectiveness (AIE) Committee met on Oct. 31 at 1 p.m. The meeting minutes are as follows:
l. Shared Governance Update
Ms. Ferrer Muniz communicated that the SUNY Committee on Shared Governance would not complete its work developing a rubric for community colleges in the near term. After discussion it was agreed that the AIEC Committee would take up this work at some point in time. It was hoped that work to date could be shared to assist in the effort.
ll. Middle States Update
Postponed to next meeting. Mr. Macklin was unable to attend.
lll. Advisement Assessment — update
Dr. Geehan discussed a revised version of the draft advisement survey previously reviewed. The draft has been sent to VP Janosik for her review and approval.
IV. Assessment and Institutional Effectiveness Committee Charge
Dr. Geehan reviewed the draft with the Committee, received some comments and suggestions and agreed to produce a revised draft.
V. Begin to Review
Core Indicators – Dr. Geehan expressed the need to evaluate current CIs, to consider new ones and to consider retiring others. One consideration for addition is the new Financial Health element of Middle States new reporting requirements.
The meeting was adjourned at 2 p.m.
The next AIE Committee will be on Nov. 14 at 1 p.m. in ADM 130.
