The Workforce Development Institute’s 30-hour AUTOCAD BASICS course, designed to teach the fundamentals of design, using AutoCAD software, will be offered at our Rensselaer Technology Park location from April 4 through April 30, 2013. The Tuesday/Thursday/Saturday schedule will be as follows: Tuesdays/Thursdays from 6 to 9 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
To meet its objective of providing students with an overview of AutoCAD software tools and how to use them for specific design tasks, this course will cover the following topics:
- Producing 2D drawings
- Creating custom templates
- CAD plotting and layout
- Completing complex drawings
- Advanced CAD commands, including file management, blocks, x-refs and the creation of libraries
Individuals who plan to take this course should be proficient in computer skills, including familiarity with mouse operations, and proficiency in navigating the Windows operating system.
A Corporate Training Rate is available for groups of six or more registrations, as well as the option of On-Site training for those businesses that have the necessary accommodations.
