To help families understand federal college loans and avoid loan delinquency and default, Hudson Valley Community College partners with the i3 Group and also offers access to Loanlook, a Web-based resource for borrowers.
On behalf of the college, i3 counselors contact students to share information on their loan status, make sure they know about repayment options, and encourage students to choose a plan that will steadily decrease principal and reduce debt as soon as possible.
Students and parents also may access Loanlook free of charge for an online, personalized profile of federal student loan and grant information, loan status notifications via e-mail or text message and to download an app to receive reminders on mobile devices.
Loanlook also offers live online chat with loan counselors, budgeting tools, cloud storage and a dashboard with loan balance, payment amounts, due dates, interest accrual information and lender/servicer contacts.
